If I close my eyes
and listen deeply
I imagine that I can hear the stars whispering your name
softly
like in a dream---
words covered in red velvet and mystery
smooth and sumptuous
the greatest sound I've ever heard
your name bouncing off of mountaintops
reflecting back to the stardust
from the oceans and rivers
muffled in the clouds
so I can't quite grasp it
can't quite reach it---
Somewhere the stars are waiting with bated breath
for me to meet you,
so I can finally learn the name they've been murmuring
for centuries.
